Seattle, WA – The Vietnamese Professionals Society Washington Chapter is organizing a fundraising dinner with Q13 Fox News Chinese/Vietnamese Anchorwoman Lily Jang and Seattle Argentine Tango Instructors Michelle Badion and Evan Wallace on Friday, August 20th, 2004 at 7pm at the New Kowloon Restaurant on 900 S. Jackson St. #203, Seattle, WA 98104. The admission fee of $30/person includes a full dinner and will go towards the VPS North American Conference 2004 that will take place end of October 2004 in Southern California.

She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Texas, Austin and is long-time member of the Asian American Journalists Association. Michelle Badion and Evan Wallace have been dancing, teaching, and performing Tango in Seattle since 1996, and travel frequently to Argentina and other Tango communities throughout the world in pursuit of their shared obsession. Together, they have taught and performed alongside the world's finest Tango artists, including teaching at international events such as Buenos Aires in Las Vegas, and in many other events in Oregon, California, British Columbia, Mexico, and Alaska. For more information, please visit their community website http://tangoing.com. Michelle and Evan will be at the fundraising event to perform a few of their most-popular dance performances.

The VPS North American Conference will take place October 23rd and 24th 2004 in Santa Ana, California. This year’s theme is “Roles of Vietnamese Professionals – Global and Local Perspectives”. As the title implies, the conference will showcase the diversity of professional fields that Vietnamese Americans are working in as well as educate them on all aspects of development that is currently taking place in Vietnam. It is our hope to promote a greater sense of civic participation by getting Vietnamese Americans to lend their expertise in a variety of local and global contribution. Among the topics presented will be Education in US, Science/Technology, Journalism, Charity, International Criminal Court, Vietnamese History, Politics, Vietnamese Americans in Film, Vietnamese Americans in Public Service and Vietnam’s Current Economy.
