I'd like to quote what Hoi Trinh said in one of his speeches. I can't remember the words exactly, but he said that "[he] was doing a favor for them [the refugees] who by sheer turn of destiny could have been doing the exact same favor for you". Another conference speaker also said that "as Vietnamese professionals, we also carry a greater responsibility in renovating Vietnam". Those two quotes have addressed me very directly and were like a wake-up call (not that I was sleeping). The conference itself was successful, but I hope that all attendees will continue or start the work that concretely and effectively improves the lives of the Vietnamese people---that is what I hope this conference has also evoked. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for an amazing experience and for allowing me to feel so proud to be Vietnamese.

There was an attendee who had been in the US just 10 months. And there were many other attendees who were born here. Regardless of the personal circumstances, each of us felt the pride of being Vietnamese and desire to contribute. Perhaps it was our common dream of building a better Vietnam that united all of us.

I contemplated whether to go to the conference or not due to the hectic schedule of my life. However, it is such a great experience and I am so glad to have attended the VPS conference. I have learned tremendously much from the speakers and the new friends. I never knew this world is full of people with kind hearts who have similar goals like mine-to help improve our motherland. I have had this inspiration-to do what I can for the country I was born in and now pity for its condition-a long long time ago. This conference is an EMPOWERMENT for me to actively fight for this goal. I thank the organizing committee for putting up those two days. I DEFINITELY look forward to VPS conference in TORONTO!!!!!!!

Tôi là một hội viên của hội chuyên gia Việt Nam (VPS) - phân hội Nam California. Ðây là lần đầu tiên tôi tham dự Ðại Hội. Tôi tham dự Ðại Hội với một lý do hơi ích kỷ: chỉ vì phân hội Nam Cali là phân hội chủ nhà nên tôi phải tham dự cho đông. Tôi không nghĩ là mình sẽ rút tỉa được gì từ Ðại Hội nhưng tôi không ngờ rằng những gì tôi thấy được và học được từ Ðại Hội lần này vượt qua sức tưỡng tượng của tôi.
Ðiều mà tôi có ấn tượng nhất là sức làm việc của tất cả các anh chi em trong ban tổ chức. Các anh chị em đã làm việc không ngừng. Tinh thần làm việc bất vụ lợi của tất cả mọi người thật cao. Họ không đợi đòi hỏi, chỉ cần bất cứ một ai cần giúp đở trong bất cứ vấn đề gì là có người tự nguyện.

Theo ML lần đầu tiên đến với VPS và các buổi hội thảo với đông đảo các anh chị em người Việt, ML cảm thấy rất vinh dự và vui sướng cũng như rất hãnh diện vì lớp trẻ VN tại hải ngoại. Nhận xét chung của ML là có khá nhiều các đề tài rất phong phú nhưng quý vị diễn giả đã không đủ thời gian để có thể nói hết ý, và vì có khá nhiều đề tài nên đã làm cho ML trở nên lúng túng khi chọn lựa đề tài để tham dự vì cái gì cùng muốn biết và cái gì cùng muốn nghe những vì chưa học được thuật phân thân nên đành chịu. Hy vọng vào lần tới ML sẽ luyện được thuật này và không phải dặn dò và thậm chí còn bắt thăm xem đề tài nào nên tham dự nữa.

I think the idea of having the conference is good but the content is too general. It's good to have the conference as forum for the Vietnamese professionals to share their experience to one another. However, I think the future conferences should include the followings:
1. More technical workshops for people with the same backgrounds. For
instance, there should be a workshop for software engineer people. In
this workshop, software engineers can talk about their software
experience.
